Dr. Ernest Jacob Rieux, Jr. a native New Orleanian graduated from George Washington Carver High; continuing his education graduated from Lael College and Graduate School, St. Ann, MO., A.A. in Liberal Arts, Dillard University, New Orleans, B.A. in Sociology and Social Welfare, University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ, M.S. in Administration of Justice and Security and Northcentral University, San Diego, CA, Ph.D. in Business Administration w/concentration in Criminal Justice. Dr. Rieux began is law enforcement career in 1996 as Deputy Sheriff with the Orleans Parish Criminal & Civil Sheriff’s Offices, the Orleans Parish Second City Court Constable’s Office as a Major (retired) and is currently as a Special Agent with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Division of Probation & Parole.
His current assignments include: Special Operations Team Coordinator, P.O.S.T Instructor, AXON TASER Instructor, and a F.L.E.T.C. Active Shooter and Use of Force Instructor and Honor Guard. In addition, Dr. Rieux is a Smith and Wesson Facial Composite Instructor, Certified Fraud Specialist, and Graduate of the N.O.P.D. Volunteer Police Academy. His professional and social memberships include: American Justice Association, Association of Fraud Specialist, N.O.B.L.E. (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives), F.O.P Lodge 50 (Fraternal Order of Police), the L.P.P.O.A. (Louisiana Probation & Parole Officers’ Association), the LABCJP (Louisiana Black Criminal Justice Professionals) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
