Traditional Program – Trooper Trainee

Hourly pay: $33.81 - $45.42
Applications to establish an eligibility list for the position of Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Trainee will be accepted from August 1, 2023 through 11:59 p.m. on September 3, 2023 at www.mntrooper.com. The Traditional Program is designed for individuals with prior law enforcement experience and or training. Applicants will need to be Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (POST) license eligible by January 15, 2024. All applicants must remain POST license eligible until the proposed appointment (academy graduation) in April of 2024.
Duties:
• Patrol state highways, promote safety, direct traffic, and investigate crashes.
• Enforce traffic laws, arrest offenders, and appear as court witness.
• Provide routine and emergency assistance to the motoring public, including administering first aid to the injured.
• Cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in the pursuit and apprehension of violators of criminal laws.
