The purpose of this position is to plan and direct the operations of the multi-jurisdictional and multi-disciplinary Public Safety Communications Center. The Center is responsible for providing 9-1-1 and emergency communications service to North Richland Hills, Haltom City, Richland Hills and Watauga with a combined population of over 137,000 residents. This position works with considerable independence under the direction of the Technical Services Captain. The individual must demonstrate a strong leadership presence, technical knowledge and knowledge of the budgeting process. This position does provide direction to employees.
Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. At least five years experience as a public safety dispatcher with a minimum of two years at the supervisor level. Valid Texas Class C Drivers License, Texas Department of Public Safety's Terminal Agency Coordinator Certification, 16 Hour TCIC/NCIC Certification, 24 Hour TLETS Basic Certification, Institute of Law Enforcement Administration: School of Police Supervision or advanced supervisory training, and TCOLE Intermediate Telecommunicator License.
