Provides progressive leadership and management to the IU Health Department of Public Safety. Assists the Chief and Deputy Chief in managing, directing and coordinating the duties and responsibilities of police officers; does related work as required. Understands the day-to-day and operational investigative, information sharing, training, policy and administration needs of the department as they relate to the IU Health Mission and Values. Responsible for management of agency operations. Coordinates efforts with employees and management to ensure consistent delivery of security services and supports the alignment of the Department of Public Safety's Statement of Support to the IU Health Mission Statement and its core values. Manages and coordinates the development of department policies to protect team members, patients, guests, properties and items of value. Coordinates operations and administrative needs and information sharing between key internal and external partners. Directs development and execution of a department-wide mission and goals. Engages with internal and external services and resources, including local, county, state, university and federal public safety agencies, behavioral health services and healthcare providers.

--Associate's Degree is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
--Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
--Completion of FBI National Academy or similar Command College is preferred.
--Requires experience with planning, developing and executing law enforcement and public safety training.
--Requires experience with criminal and internal affairs investigations and evidence/property management.
--Requires familiarity with information sharing and public safety training.
--Requires familiarity with developing and maintaining policies and procedures to meet standards of law enforcement and security accreditation.
--Requires familiarity with NIMS and HICS/ICS.
--Requires knowledge of city, state and federal laws, regulations and ordinances.
--Requires working knowledge of computers and various software programs.
--Requires successful completion of the Firearms Proficiency Test with continuous requalification on a semi-annual basis.
--Must undergo a psychological evaluation. Requires ability to successfully complete all requirements for a Hospital Police Officer as set by I.C. 16-18-4-4.
--Requires current and non-restricted Driver's License.
