The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Community Safety Director to plan, direct, manage, supervise and oversee the programs, activities, operations and services of the Office of Community Safety (OCS); to oversee OCS functions in community engagement and coordination; serve as a City of Fayetteville liaison; and collaborate and coordinate between the City of Fayetteville and the community in order to enhance public safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:
Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in community relations to include development/engagement; human/social services, public administration, public safety or a related area.

Training:
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in community development, social work, public administration, public safety or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

LICENSING & CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:
Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability.

Preferred:
Municipal Administration course completion, Incident Command System (ICS).
