Since March 2023 Jacob Green has held the position of Acting Assistant Director of the Investigative Operations Division (IOD), US Marshals. Prior to this, his role was Deputy Assistant Director of IOD, effective September 2022. In March 2020, Green served the Office of Professional Responsibility, Office of Compliance, where he coordinated the Auxiliary Compliance team selections and training program. In January 2017, Jacob Green became the Acting United States Marshal for the Western District of Washington and received the Attorney General appointment twice, under both Attorneys General Jeff Sessions and William Barr. During this time, he served on the North West HIDTA Board, the Seattle Federal Executive Board and as the Co-Chair of Seattle Special Agent in Charge Training and Collaboration Committee.

Under Mr. Green’s leadership, the Western District of Washington was a recipient of the US Marshals Director’s award for its EEO and Community Policing 2019 and violent crime Task Force operations. Additionally, Green was recognized by the Seattle Federal Executive Board for leadership, diversity and the reduction of violent crime. In 2017, Mr. Green was elected to serve as the Washington State Chapter President for the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). In July 2022, he was elected as the NOBLE Regional VI Vice President which covers Alaska, Hawaii, California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Idaho.

Prior to his roles in the Western District of Washington, Mr. Green served as the Assistant Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal for the District of Columbia – DC Superior Court (DC/SC) beginning in April 2014. While assigned to Superior Court, Mr. Green took charge of: Fugitive Investigations, Prisoner Coordination, Service of Process, Training, Sex Offender Investigation Court and Cell Block Operations. His achievements were recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and Green is a proud recipient of their inaugural “40 under 40” award in 2016. Additionally, he received the USMS Director’s Distinguished Group Award for EEO that same year.

Mr. Green served as a Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for DC/SC from March 2010 to April 2014. Initial assignments included Supervisor of Court and Prisoner Operations, Service of Process, Compliance, Training and Professional Development. Mr. Green held the position of District Compliance Officer and during this time; served a five-month detail at USMS HQ, assigned to the Director’s Office, where he provided technical and operational advice on the agency’s messaging.

Green began his career in the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), as a participant in the CO-OP Program in August 2001. He graduated from the Basic Deputy U. S. Marshal Academy in April 2002 and was assigned to the EDNY until February 2010. Throughout this time, Mr. Green worked in support of several high-profile trials, investigated numerous threats and was assigned to various prominent protection details. In 2005, he became a member of the EDNY Warrant Squad and served as a team leader on the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force. During his tenure on the task force, he investigated and participated in closing several USMS major cases and international fugitive cases. Green served a TDY in
the International Operations Division in 2009.

Mr. Green received his associate and bachelor’s degrees in Police Science from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 2000 and 2001, respectively. He also served as a New York City Police Department (NYPD) cadet from 2000 to 2002.
