John currently serves as the Director of Internal Affairs and Chief of Investigations & Intelligence at Delaware County Prison, a position earned after a distinguished twenty-eight-year career in law enforcement. His public safety journey began as a Special Protection Agent in the Air Courier/Armored Service industry in New York City, where he safeguarded high-value cargo and personnel. His commitment to service led him to the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) in New York.
His exemplary performance earned him a promotion to the Detective Division, where he investigated and resolved major crimes impacting the county. John was then selected for the elite Special Investigations Squad, handling sensitive cases involving high-profile individuals, dignitary protection, and homeland security matters.
Recognized for his strategic insight, leadership, and ability to manage complex, multi-jurisdictional operations, John was appointed by the Office of the Commissioner of Police as a multi-agency coordinating liaison to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) New York Office Counter Terrorism Division – Joint Terrorist Task Force (JTTF). Serving in this capacity for sixteen years, he held Top Secret Clearance with SCI Access. He performed as the Executive Coordination Liaison, managing operational oversight and supervisory responsibilities for NCPD personnel assigned to the Task Force. His work encompassed counterterrorism intelligence, threat assessment, interagency collaboration, and critical incident response.
Following his retirement from NCPD, John continued his public service as Commissioner of the Incorporated Village of Westbury Taxi and Limousine Commission, overseeing regulations of the state and local laws, compliance monitoring, and policy administration for the region’s transportation sector. He was later recruited as Law Enforcement Director for JonWesley Consulting LLC, a government contracting firm specializing in public safety reforms, accountability programs, and advisory services for national security and law enforcement agencies—particularly in Northern Africa.
A recognized Law Enforcement Subject Matter Expert, John is a life member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), having joined in 1998 with the New York Chapter (Region One) where he served on numerous committees and the executive board. He now serves as the Parliamentarian of the Delaware Chapter (Region Two).
