Michael R. D. Adams is a practicing attorney in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with more than thirty years in the legal profession with a record of continuous service, notable achievement, and professional advancement in a highly competitive field. He has had a successful practice as a lawyer, senior level manager, and chief operating and policy officer with private, governmental regulatory, and non-profit entities.

He has extensive community and social involvement in the greater Baton Rouge community. Michael R. D. Adams has been consistently recognized and commended for a high level of integrity, personal dedication, and overall professionalism.  Recently recognized in 2022 as a Top 100 Lawyer by the National Black Lawyer’s Association.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Southern University and A & M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center and,  a LLM in Global Antitrust and Economics from the Scalia Law School at George Mason University in Virginia. He is admitted to practice law in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and all federal and state courts in the State of Louisiana. He currently holds membership in the following organizations: Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and Louis S. Martinet Legal Society and a member of the House of Delegates for the Louisiana State Bar Association.

He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Deacons at the Glory Land Baptist Church, Chairman Board of Directors/President of 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, Board of Directors of WRKF public radio, and the Board of Directors of the L.K.K. Foundation, and National Board of Director for IDEA Charter Schools.  He is a past member of the Advisory Committee for the United States Civil Rights Commission, and a member of the International Association of Insurance Receivers.

Michael R. D. Adams has also served as a disciplinary committee member for the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, he is a past National President of Southern University’s National Alumni Federation, past National General Counsel for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and has been a guest lecturer for the National Bar Association in the areas of toxic tort litigation. He has been appointed on several occasions by the Louisiana Courts as a Receiver of failed life & health, property and casualty insurance companies, and Special Master for Opioid litigation.

Currently, he is a partner with the law firm of DeCuir, Clark & Adams, L.L.P. whose responsibilities include providing counsel and advise for the firm’s corporate clients in the areas of general corporate defense, public finance, complex commercial litigation, and pharmaceutical defense litigation and civil rights.

Michael is married to Brunetta Hillard Adams and they have three children, Langston, Lyle, and Elise.
