Michelle Tégé

Position: Detective 1st Grade (Retired)

Michelle Tégé, a Brooklyn Native, whose passion for city life brought her to the New York City Police Department in 1987, where she enjoyed a 33 year career that included patrol, Executive Protection, Gang Intelligence, the NYPD Overseas Liaison International Post in Singapore (First/Only Female and First African American of the inaugural 2003 launch), Terrorist Incident Prevention, and completed her first NYPD career in 2020, conducting internal investigations.  Her ability to listen with compassion, and empathy brought her to serve as a Peer Support Officer with Police Officers Providing Peer Assistance (POPPA), a not for profit organization in service to Members of the NYPD, focusing on Mental Health Wellbeing.  As a Member of two NOBLE Chapters (New York Chapter and New Jersey Chapter) she has served as a local Chapter Executive Board Member, local and National Committee Chair, as well as local and National Committee Member, NOBLE National Associate Member Representative 2017-2022, and Special Assistant to the NOBLE National President on International Affairs (2022-2023). Michelle is also a Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP),  and the NYPD Guardians Association.   In addition to these roles, she serves in her community as an advocate supporting several organizations, as well as elected to serve in two local volunteer positions:  County Committee Member and Delegate to the Judicial Convention, 43rd Assembly District, Brooklyn, New York.  Michelle graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor Degree in Public Administration, from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
