Under general direction from a higher level police officer or administrator, and in accordance with broad operating procedures, performs a variety of duties and tasks related to providing safety and security to university buildings, grounds, and personnel by properly enforcing all applicable state and local laws, codes, and ordinances, as well as university policies, procedures, and regulations. Must be at least 21 years of age, have the ability to gather and classify information, and be able to prepare clear and concise police reports. Must have a high school diploma or GED and a current OPOTA certification or at time of appointment. Must be able to pass physical examination, polygraph examination, psychological examination, and an extensive background investigation. May be required to undergo an annual physical examination and periodic psychological and/or psychiatric examination as needed.
