Annual salary range: $147,337.27 to $235,584.59
Starting pay will not exceed $191,000

The City of Farmers Branch (population 36,442) is seeking an exceptional and progressive leader to serve as its Police Chief. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in this first-ring, growing suburb of Dallas that has the benefits of small-town charm but with direct access to the infrastructure and amenities of the DFW area.

The City desires a Police Chief who has a servant leader’s heart, and has an authentic drive to make the Police Department one of the best departments serving its residents and businesses in the Dallas area. The ideal candidate should have experience cultivating and building relationships across diverse community groups, with an orientation towards being visible and engaging and making the community a partner. The ideal candidate will also have experience implementing new, improved, and progressive police methodologies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in criminal justice, public administration, or a closely related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. Completion of an advanced police leadership development program as well as experience obtaining/maintaining State or National Accreditation for a police department is also preferred. Ten (10) years of experience in law enforcement is required, including over five (5) years experience in a command or supervisory role above the rank of Lieutenant. Experience in a city of Farmers Branch size or larger is desirable.
