Police Department

The Village is currently accepting applications for full-time Police Officer. This position protects life and property, enforces federal, state and local laws, investigates criminal activity and responds to emergency/non-emergency situations.

Applicants who have not completed Florida basic police officer academy training will not be considered and neither will applications without the fully completed package.

Be 21 years of age or older
Have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of basic police officer training academy
Have U.S. citizenship
Be able to pass a medical examination
Be able to pass a thorough background check
Possess a valid Florida driver’s license or be able to obtain one prior to employment

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated ability to perform work requiring little supervision
Good physical condition
Sound conflict resolution skills
Sound oral and written communication skills
Technical competence with computers


Vacation leave (0-4 years = 2 weeks; 5-9 years = 3 weeks; 10 years+ = 4 weeks)
Personal days (3 days annually)
Paid holidays (12 days annually)
Sick leave (96 hours annually)
